This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies are used on ctrlscale.com, what they do, and how you can manage your preferences.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser when you visit a website. This site
also uses localStorage and sessionStorage, which serve the same
function; this policy refers to all of them as “cookies”.
Categories
- Necessary. Required for the site to work and cannot be switched off. They do not identify you and are never used for advertising.
- Analytics. Help us understand how pages are used. Only run with your explicit consent.
- Advertising. Used to measure Meta and Google ad results and to show you relevant content. Only run with your explicit consent.
Cookies we use
The table below lists every cookie that may run once consent is given. Some tools may not be configured yet; an unconfigured tool is never loaded, even with consent.
| Cookie | Provider | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
ctrlg.consent | CTRL Scale (first party) | Necessary | Stores your cookie choice; without it you would be asked again on every page. | Persistent (localStorage) |
ctrlg.attribution | CTRL Scale (first party) | Necessary | Keeps the link you arrived from for the session, so a form submission is recorded with the right source. | Session (sessionStorage) |
_ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 | Analytics | Measures how pages are used, in aggregate and anonymously. | Up to 2 years |
_clck, _clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Analytics | Analyses on-page behaviour (scrolling, clicks) in aggregate. | Up to 1 year |
_fbp | Meta (Facebook) Pixel | Advertising | Measures Meta ad results and builds remarketing audiences. | Up to 3 months |
_gcl_* | Google Ads | Advertising | Attributes conversions coming from Google ads. | 90 days |
li_sugr, UserMatchHistory | LinkedIn Insight Tag | Advertising | Measures LinkedIn campaign performance. | Up to 6 months |
Consent and Google Consent Mode v2
On your first visit, analytics and advertising cookies start in a denied state, enforced through Google Consent Mode v2: ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage are set to denied until you choose otherwise.
Google Tag Manager does load at that point, but under denied consent it writes no cookies to your device and only produces aggregate signals that cannot be tied to you. Tools that do not support Consent Mode — Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag and Microsoft Clarity — are never added to the page until consent is given.
Changing your preferences
You can change your decision at any time via the “Manage Preferences” link in the footer, which reopens the consent dialog with your current choices. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.
Browser settings
You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, your cookie preference cannot be stored and the consent dialog will reappear on every visit.
